Education: Eastern Illinois University for my Bachelor’s and Master’s of Arts; Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois
I work with: individual adults
Specialties: I specialize in helping clients with neurodivergence (especially Autism and ADHD) and how it interacts with other possible concerns like disordered eating, trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction.
Modalities: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Personal Bio: I believe that we are only able to make changes once we’ve learned to meet ourselves wherever we might be at–and I want to help you build the tools so you can meet yourself. I am passionate about providing neurodivergent-affirming care. That means that I want to help you work with your brain, rather than fighting against it–which is an exhausting struggle! My goal is to help you figure out what’s important to you and help you move towards those things you value. I will hold a compassionate and non-judgmental space while we collaborate to determine what will best serve you.
I am also passionate about providing a safe space for people in the LGBTQ+ community. I believe that it is important to acknowledge how identities may intersect to create unique experiences and challenges.
Outside of the therapy room, you might find me at a yoga studio, listening to live music, or spending time with my dog. I also love a good cup of coffee–there’s a good chance you’ll see me drinking some during a session!
During our initial sessions, you can expect: Our first sessions are designed to help me begin to better understand your brain and for us to start building the therapeutic relationship (in clinical terms, rapport building!). Therapeutic work can happen when you feel safe and these first few sessions help create this safety. I’ll ask questions about who you are, what you do, how your brain works, and what you want from therapy. This sets us up to work on those goals that you are bringing with you.
