Teen with head down and phone in hand, depression

Child & Adolescent Therapy

Childhood and adolescence are full of change and it’s common for children to experience emotional upheaval. While the love and support of caregivers can provide a secure base as they navigate the world, sometimes therapy is needed to help kids adapt and learn the healthy coping skills to thrive.

Kids and teens can benefit from mental health therapy as they grow, whether they’re facing the everyday challenges of coming of age, or they’re dealing with more serious issues such as behavioral problems; school bullying; family trauma like divorce, abuse, or death; destructive behaviors; identity exploration with sexual orientation and gender identity; neurodivergence or other mental health diagnoses; eating disorders, self harm, and more.

At ECC, we support children and teens of all identities and backgrounds. With the guidance and support of an ECC therapist, your child or teen can learn new coping skills and ways of communicating so that they can thrive into adulthood.

We work with children and adolescents with a variety of behavioral, social, and emotional struggles.

Therapy can be an opportunity for children and adolescents to:

  • Learn about themselves and support identity exploration, including gender and sexual identity

  • Address symptoms of depression or anxiety

  • Increase self-esteem, confidence, and assertiveness

  • Develop a positive relationship with food and body image

  • Learn new, healthy coping skills and positive self-care strategies

  • Explore feelings about making positive decisions in relationships

  • Improve time management and organizational skills

  • Explore feelings about making positive decisions about drugs and alcohol

  • Understand the shifting roles and boundaries in their relationships with family members

  • Improve communication skills in relationships

  • Address oppositional behaviors at home or school

We’re committed to helping children and adolescents find the therapist and therapy method that best suits their needs. When you contact us, our intake team will review your intake form and follow up to book an appointment.
