Personal bio: I believe that our problems can be linked to frozen patterns and cycles we have learned to protect ourselves. I passionately believe that you are not your problem, but rather these persistent patterns are to blame. I have found that the key to breaking these patterns and unlocking our potential is through the courage to be emotionally vulnerable with others while cultivating compassion toward ourselves.
My clinical approach is eclectic with an emphasis on the common factors of change, such as: hope, collaboration, and a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and empathy. You can expect our clinical work to include attention to identifying and expressing emotions, developing self-compassion, establishing balance, tracking patterns, and building insight/awareness.
I received a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University (TTU); while there I took part in a variety of clinical internships providing individual couple and family therapy services at a number of locations: a university therapy clinic, an outpatient pediatric oncology clinic, and a community pediatric and adult hospice.
Following graduation, I furthered my clinical career at two downtown psychotherapy group practices working with individuals, relationships, and families with a wide range of presenting concerns. I also have completed a foundational 36-hour training devoted to deepening understanding and application of LGBQ+/TGNC affirmative, anti-racist, and trauma-focused clinical practices.
My greatest priority is to ensure therapy is a safe space built upon non-judgement and trust. I believe you are inherently valuable and there is hope for change and growth in all of us. Feel free to reach out for a brief consultation or to schedule your first session.
During our sessions, you can expect: Attentive listening, compassion, engagement, curiosity, and a brief assessment of what is bringing you into therapy.
