Therapy can be a difficult step for anyone to take in their lives. Individuals may seek therapy in order to find answers to issues they have had for many years. However, therapy is also much more than that. Therapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist, in order to gain insight and have the necessary tools to continue to succeed in their everyday lives.

I am a pre-licensed professional counselor, and I received my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I also acquired my Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, where I interned at a private practice working with all ages in both individual and family contexts. During my master’s program, I worked to acquire skills to make the therapeutic experience as comfortable as it can be for clients. After my master’s program, I gained experience working with adults with Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Anxiety Disorders.

I worked closely with clients to create a space that decreased feelings of anxiousness and utilize tools to help them cope with symptoms that may impact their everyday lives. During that time, I began to realize the importance of remaining grounded with the client and forming a strong therapeutic relationship. I utilize a person-centered approach in session, to be able to learn more about your core strengths and how they can be used as tools to improve your daily functioning. My goal is to create an environment in which you feel comfortable working on yourself. I do this by being as authentic as I can be during sessions. Providing a supportive and safe space where you feel as though you can be yourself, and discuss your issues without fear of judgment.

Oftentimes individuals seek therapy in order to learn the “why” of their current issues. However, many times, an individual already knows the answer to that question. Because of that, I also utilize Solution Focused Therapy to guide you to your ability to solve your issues and promote change. We will work collaboratively to determine what solutions and goals will work best for you to address your presenting problems. We will also work on creating solutions that will bring you one step closer to your treatment goals each session. I specialize in adults, anxiety, depression, and psychosis. I also have experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

In my spare time I enjoy exploring Chicago and discovering new foods. I have also discovered a new interest in collecting vinyl records and enjoy using music as a form of healing. I look forward to working with you and helping you begin your path of achieving your goals!
