Riley Brennan, MA, BA

Graduate Intern Therapist

Pronouns: she / they

You are not a problem. There is nothing “wrong” with you. We all face challenges that affect our emotions, relationships and the ways we function day-to-day. Therapy can help you understand and navigate those challenges in a way that feels empowering and positive for your goals.

My main priority is to create a strong, safe relationship for you to share and grow. I approach therapy as a collaborative process where you are the expert on your life. As a systems therapist, I help identify ways external factors such as family, friends, school and work have influenced your life. I use strength-based approaches, mindfulness and narrative theory to help you recognize your own power to pursue growth and healing.

I work with families, relationships and individuals with a particular interest in working with teens and parents with children of any age.

I am especially interested in addressing teen mood instability, parenting, relationships issues, harm to self or others and gender dynamics. I am completing numerous trainings: Gottman Level 1 training for couples therapy, Play therapy, and DBT.

In my free time I love baking, reading and being outside! A dream day includes reading outside while eating ice cream. Other hats I wear include partner, nanny, sex educator, wannabe pickleball star and nonprofit professional.

I am completing my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy at Adler University. I have a Master’s degree in Media and Public Communication from the University of Denver, where I focused on sexual representation and health communication.
